UB School of Law Mobility Print: macOS Instructions
Follow these instructions to install PaperCut Mobility Print on a personally owned Mac and add the Law School printer queues available to your account.
Mobility Print is intended for personally owned macOS computers. University-managed computers already have direct access to Law School network printers and should not use Mobility Print.
Download Mobility Print Return to Mobility Print Home
macOS Requirements
- A personally owned Mac.
- A supported version of macOS.
- Your UBITName and UBIT password.
- Permission to install software on your Mac. You may need your local Mac administrator password during installation.
Install Mobility Print
-
Open a web browser and go to:
http://mobilityprint.law.buffalo.edu:9163/setup -
Select Download to download the macOS Mobility Print installer.
-
Open the downloaded installer package and follow the prompts. If macOS asks for permission to install the software, enter your local Mac administrator credentials.
Connect and Get Your Printers
- After installing the Mobility Print client, return to the Mobility Print setup page in your browser.
- If your browser asks to open the PaperCut Mobility Print client, choose Allow or Open.
- If you do not see the prompt, select Connect and get my printers from the setup page.
- The Mobility Print client will fetch and install the printer queues available to your account.
Mobility Print should install the printers available to your account. Student organization, clinic, and faculty/staff printers are intended only for users with appropriate access. If you do not see a printer you believe you should have access to, contact Law IT.
Print from macOS
After installation, the available Law School printer queues will appear in the normal macOS print dialog. To print, open your document, choose File > Print, select the appropriate Law School printer, and submit the job as you normally would.
Authentication When Printing
When prompted while printing, enter your UBITName and UBIT password. Be careful not to use your local Mac username and password if macOS fills those in automatically.
If a print job pauses with a Hold for Authentication message, click the refresh or resume icon for the job and enter your UBIT credentials again. If macOS saved incorrect credentials in Keychain, remove the saved printer credentials and try again.
Need to Reinstall or Refresh Printers?
If you need to refresh your available printers, return to the Mobility Print setup page and run through the setup process again. If the problem continues, contact Law IT.
